In early 2013, while engaged to be married and working a full time job in the truckload transportation industry, I set out to try my hand at being a developer on a self-storage project I had in mind. That's where the whole learning process of civil engineering and surveying began. Early on it was clear that an entirely foreign world lie ahead in making the jump from first time commercial real estate buyer to standing before a planning commission. Hoping to receive final approval on what started out as a napkin sketch and having no experience in zoning, drainage, planning boards, traffic studies, waivers, and variances was frightening with a savings account at risk. I was hooked, and subsequently sought out on a decade long career shift which has lead to an Indiana Real Estate License, Surveyor curriculum, Multiple commercial and residential developments for myself, and a long tenure under one of Hendricks County's most respected Civil Engineers & Licensed Surveyors. As with most, 2020 was a turning point and put a spotlight on the value of what is important, family. 2020-2022 brought forth the highest demand in Real Estate, Engineering, and Surveying our generation has witnessed and the result of that are lengthy lead times and a potentially more selective criteria for a firm to accept a project. Thus, Torrey Pine Consulting as an early engineering concept was born. I aim to serve a wide range of clients from the most hardened developer looking for early layout work to the first time home buyer needing to make sure the land they want to buy can have their dream outbuilding or swimming pool. Our goal is to be the spear point of projects and work with the buyers, owners, developers, professional survey/engineering firm and or permit seekers. I desire to get their project started earlier on and in the right direction with the end goal of saving time and money in the transition from concept to final approvals. With years of experience comes a depth of professional relationships in just about every trade to refer clients to, it's my goal to be an integral part of the due diligence and design process and then pair them with the most suited vendors to successfully win at their goal and start building their dream!
